Fees for pension valuation services

We can assist separating couples in dealing with a pension on marriage breakdown. We can value a defined benefit pension, we can determine an appropriate income tax adjustment for all pension assets (defined contribution pensions, RRSPs, locked-in retirement investments, etc), and assist with any other calculations that are required.
An employer provided pension plan is most likely either a defined benefit pension plan, a defined contribution pension plan or a hybrid pension plan that is combination of the two. For hybrid pension plans our fees for a valuation are the same as for a defined benefit pension plan.
If you have a request for a service not mentioned below please contact us.

We offer a 10% discount off of our fees if both spouses use our services. This is ideal in situations where you and your spouse are co-operating (or using collaborative family law) and agree to the same expert. This arrangement can save costs for both spouses as additional fees are not spent on other experts and time is not spent disputing values. Be aware, however, that both spouses will need to sign a waiver form provided below (unless you have signed an appropriate collaborative law agreement with respect to experts) and we would not be able to testify on either spouse's behalf if the dispute goes to court.
We would be happy to have a telephone conversation to discuss the results of the report and answer any questions that you may have, at no extra charge.
